WELCOME TO THE MACLAURIN TRUST

Set within the magnificent grounds of Rozelle Park, the Maclaurin Galleries house one of the nation’s finest collections of classic and contemporary arts and crafts. Our highly-renowned exhibition programme offers visitors a rare chance to enjoy diverse works from local, national and internally acclaimed artists.

Rozelle has had a chequered history and was in the hands of several members of the Hamilton family during the late 18th and early 19th century. The impressive Mansion House was built in 1760, in the style of Robert Adam, and was named after one of the properties owned by Robert Hamilton of Bourtreehill in Jamaica, - “Rozelle”. In 1968, the house and adjacent park were gifted to the Royal Burgh of Ayr and, in 1976, the coachhouse and servant’s house were converted into an Art Gallery. Since that time, there have been numerous developments resulting in the first class facility that exists today.

The stunning series of galleries continue to excite and inspire visitors and remain a hugely popular attraction amongst all ages.
